The Faerie Piper

The Piper

Sat on a branch of an ancient tree
In the light of the growing moon,
The faerie whistler lifts his pipe
And quietly plays his tune.

His music is soft as a silvery breath
A whisper of something unknown.
‘Tis best to tread lightly
To keep very quiet
and ‘tis best to come on your own.
